Plain pads are the most economical — single-layer polypropylene for routine drips and light maintenance. Meltblown pads have finer fibres for faster wicking and higher absorption per pad. SMS (spunbond-meltblown-spunbond) pads are the strongest — lint-free, tear-resistant, and suited for cleanrooms, labs, and pharma production where fibre contamination matters.
Choose lightweight pads for routine leaks, mediumweight pads for general maintenance, or heavyweight pads for larger spills and demanding industrial applications.
Use universal pads when your facility handles mixed liquids — coolants, water, solvents, and oil in the same area — or when you're not sure what spilled. Oil-only pads repel water and only absorb hydrocarbons, so they won't work on coolant or water-based spills. If your machines run both oil and water-based coolant, universal pads are the safer stock to keep.
